PIA Holding Company Limited (PIAHCLA) reported Consolidated Loss per share of PKR 4.85 for CY25, compared to PKR 2.78 in CY24. Precision Engineering Complex (PEC) was divested during the year for a consideration of approximately PKR 2.5bn against net liabilities of a similar amount, resulting in a net gain of PKR 4.67bn, which was recognized as a gain from discontinued operations. A PKR 109bn government loan was reworked based on government notified interest rates.

This reworking enabled PIAHCL to write back PKR 16.5bn of liabilities. PIAHCL remains legally obligated to service PIACL’s retirement benefit obligations, including pensions, as well as markup on commercial loans. To fund these obligations, government loan support increased by PKR 33.4bn during FY25. In CY25, Aviation accounted for 88.7% of total group revenue, while Hotel Services contributed 11%, with the remaining share attributable to other segments. Of the group’s PKR 999bn total liabilities, approximately 76% is concentrated in the Other segment.

Other income stood at PKR 18bn, driven primarily by the PKR 16.5bn one off loan write back gain, along with management fee and rental income. Total expenses stood at PKR 55.7bn, dominated by PKR 49.8bn in markup expenses, compared with PKR 46bn in SPLY, mainly due to the additional PKR 33.4bn in government funding. Management emphasized that, with continued government support to fund markup and pension obligations, the entity remains well positioned to continue operating for the foreseeable future.
